METROS SWEEP BATTLECATS IN DRAMATIC FASHION
The Niagara Metros went into Brampton yesterday, and
swept the Battlecats by scores of 5-4 and 10-8, in a Central Ontario Major Baseball League doubleheader. But it wasn't
as much "that they won", as it was more "how they won", that made the games special. In game
1, Niagara carried a 5-3 lead into the 7th, but the 'Cats scored a run, and had runners on 1st and 2nd, before the Metros
turned a big double play to snuff out the rally, and preserve the win. In game 2, the Battlecats held a 7-2 lead after
5, only to have Niagara score 2 in the 6th, and 6 in the 7th (4 coming on Dave Davidson's Grand Slam HR) to steal a 10-8 victory.
The 1st game featured a fine start on the mound for the Metros by Steve Baldinelli. In his first start of the
young season, Baldinelli went 5 innings and allowed just 3 hits and 3 runs. He walked 4 and struck out 5. Chris
Magarian pitched a perfect 6th inning, before Davidson came on in the 7th to earn his 2nd save. The former major-leaguer
was touched for 3 hits and a run, but as mentioned, induced a critical double play ball to put the game away. Steve
Hough took the loss for Brampton.
Offensively, the Metros were led by Aaron Butler in game 1. The young 3rd
baseman doubled, singled, walked and scored two runs. Tim Collins collected a 2-run single and an RBI walk, while Mike
Czerwieniec and Jono Marcheterre added a single and an RBI each. Joe Roach and Andrew Sorochan rounded out the offense
with singles. Ken Appleby had 2 singles for the 'Cats.
In the wild Game 2, Brampton held leads of 4-1, and
7-2, but the "never-say-die" Metros didn't quit. They got RBI's from Davidson and Butler in the 6th inning
to narrow the gap to 3 in the 6th. And then they combined 5 walks by Brampton pitchers, with a Marcheterre single and
the Davidson Grand Slam (for his 5th RBI in the game) to score 6 times and pull out the 10-8 win. Chris Pickles and
Czerwieniec added RBI singles while Roach and Baldinelli chipped in with RBI's. Jonathan Paul added a single.
Tim Robulack had a double and a single for Brampton.
The win went to Jonathan Paul, who was the 5th pitcher of
the game for Niagara. Geoff Strong made his first start of the year, after his return from NCAA Niagara University,
and pitched well until an injury forced him from the game. He went 2 1/3 innings allowing 1 hit, 1 earned run, and struck
out 2. Pickles, Dan Proctor, Magarian and Paul followed Strong to the mound and combined to toss 4 2/3 innings,
allowing 9 hits and 6 runs. The quartet walked 3 and struck out 2.
The two wins evens the Metros'
record at 3-3 on the season, while the snakebit Brampton club drops to 1-6. The Metros get a couple of
days off, before returning to league action this Thursday night, as the Erindale Cardinals come to Community Park for a 7:30
game. Niagara then returns to the road on Saturday for a 1:30 date with the Milton Red Sox.

GRIZZLIES DOWN METROS
The Glanbrook Grizzlies scored 3 runs in the top of
the 9th to break open a close game, and coast to a 6-1 victory over the Niagara Metros in St. Catharines. Glanbrook
had scored single runs in the 1st, 5th, and 6th innings, but the Metros narrowed the margin to 3-1 in the 7th, before Glanbrook
iced it away. The single Niagara run was their first score in 16 innings of play.
Former Metros' player Justin
Czorny got the win on the mound for the Griz. Justin went 6 innings and tossed shutout ball, allowing 2 hits.
The loss went to Metros' starter Jason Ermers, who was touched for 2 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits. He walked 2 and struck
out 4. T.J. Tavender pitched two innings of relief, allowing an unearned run on 1 hit, while striking out 2. Rookie
Paul Somerville finished up and gave up the 3 9th-inning runs (2 earned), on 5 hits. The Metros made 4 errors in the
game, which led to 3 Glanbrook runs.
Offensively, Rob Spiak led the way for the Grizzlies, hitting a triple and
2 singles to lead the 11-hit attack. Niagara managed just 6 hits on the night, with veterans Jonathan Paul and Jono
Marcheterre collecting 2 each. Joe Roach added a single, while Dave Davidson hit a pinch-hit double in the 9th.
The win improves Glanbrooks' record to 5-2 on the young season, while Niagara drops to 1-3. And there's no rest for
the Metros, as they get right back on the horse in Brampton on Saturday. The Metros and Battlecats play a doubleheader
beginning at 11:00 AM. Next home game for Niagara is next Thursday, as the Erindale Cardinals come to town. First
pitch at Community Park is 7:30.

TWINS WIN PITCHER'S DUEL
The Mississauga
SW Twins proved to the Niagara Metros that they're "for real", as they downed Niagara 1-0, last night in Mississauga.
The first-year expansion Twins continued to impress, as they moved into 1st place in the league's Andrews Division.
It was an amazing pitcher's dual, as youngsters Andrew Fostu and Matt Piccini of the Twins, outduelled the Metros' pair of
Dustin Turner and Chris Magarian. Fostu got the win, going 6 innings and allowing 2 hits. The well-played game
featured just one (Mississauga) error, and was over in just over two hours.
Turner took his second straight tough-luck
loss, as the 2009 Johnson Division All-Star allowed just 1 run on 5 hits. He walked 2 and struck out 5 over his 5 innings
of work. Magarian was masterful in relief, tossing 3 innings and allowing 0 runs and 1 hit, while walking 0 and striking
out 3.
The Twins would get the only run they needed in the bottom of the 1st inning, on a single, a
walk, and an RBI single from Jerome Smith. The Metros got runners to 3rd base three times in the first 3 innings,
but couldn't come up with the hit when they needed it. The 4 Niagara hits (all singles) were shared by Matt Spillman,
Joe Roach, Jonathan Paul, and Garrett Fisher.
The win improves Mississauga's record to 4-1 on the season, while
the Metros drop to 1-2. Niagara's busy schedule continues this week when they return home on Thursday for a matchup
with the Glanbrook Grizzlies, before heading to Brampton on Saturday, for a doubleheader. That Thursday night home game
is at Community Park, and begins at 7:30.

HAPPY VICTORIA DAY WEEKEND! - UPDATES GALORE!
We thought that, as this Victoria Day long weekend
is just getting started, it would be a good time to wish everyone a happy May 24th weekend! And while we're at it...bring
everyone up-to-date on some of the happenings within the C.O.M.B.L., the Metros, and our website.
1.
First up...we have news on the "Hap" Walters Tournament, being hosted by the league, and held in Mississauga on
the July 16, 17, and 18th weekend. Earlier this week, we received the registration from the final team to enter the
tourney, and we are now "sold out". Sixteen of the best teams in the province will "strut their stuff"
at the Hap, in an effort to become the 7th Tournament Champions, in this annual event.
This amazing field includes
9 teams from around the province and 7 from right here in our Central Ontario Major League. The C.O.M.B.L. teams include
the Brampton Battlecats, Burlington Brants, Erindale Cardinals, Etobicoke Rangers, Milton Red Sox, Oakville A's, and of course
the former host team, the Niagara Metros. From outside the league the list of formidible teams includes the Lakeside
Lizards, Leaside Leafs, Markham Pioneers, Newmarket Hawks, Oshawa Royals, Peterborough River Dogs, Whitby Canadians, Windsor
Athletics, and the defending tournament and Ontario champion Windsor Stars.
C.O.M.B.L. schedule-maker,
Mark Walters will be putting together the Divisional makeup and schedule sometime in the next couple of weeks.
The teams will all receive an email with the information, and we'll post the schedule on both the league website
(www.cobamajor.com/main.html), as well as right here at www.metrosbaseball.ca.
2. We took a bunch of new photos from our game this past Thursday night, and posted them on the site.
To see some great "action shots" from our match with Etobicoke, just click on "Photo Album", to the left
of the page. And if you like those photos, you'll love the work done by Shawn Whiteley during the same game. Shawn could
put the photographers from "Sports Illustrated" to shame with this work. Just click on this link: http://1fxsports.smugmug.com/ , run the slideshow feature, and prepare to be blown away!
3. Before we go, we have to tell you about our newest "Baseball Film
Feature", at the bottom of this page. It is another "Funny or Die" exclusive entitled "Gamechangers:
A Legend in the Booth" with Hank Azaria. As we're sure most of you are aware, Hank Azaria is one of this era's
comic geniuses, when it comes to creating a character. We've seen him in such classic movies as "Quiz Show",
"Grosse Pointe Blank", "Mystery Alaska", "Nobody's Perfect", and "Night at the Museum".
He's also been a regular character voice on the "Simpson's" TV series since the show's inception
in the early-90's.
In this piece (which he wrote, directed and stars in) Azaria creates a loveable character
named Jim Brockmire, and tells the true story of a truly old-school sportscaster who was well before his
time. He set the standard for how to call a baseball game and he loved his wife more than anything else until one fateful
day when his sportscasting career changed forever. The piece also features real sportscasters Dan Patrick, Rich Eisen
and Joe Buck, and is simply THE FUNNIEST THING we've ever posted. Turn up the volume...but not too loud! Although
this 4 minute masterpiece is edited, it is not intended for young ears! Enjoy this instant classic.
That's it for now...once again, have a great (but safe) long weekend, and we'll talk to you after our Tuesday night game
in Mississauga. Then we'll look forward to seeing you at our Thursday night home game versus the Glanbrook Grizzlies.
Game time at Community Park is 7:30.

METROS EVEN RECORD AFTER COME FROM BEHIND WIN
The Niagara Metros scored three runs
in the bottom of the 8th inning, as they defeated the visiting Etobicoke Rangers 5-4 at Community Park last night. The
win evened the Metros record at 1-1, while the Rangers dropped to 1-3 on the young season. Niagara outhit
Etobicoke 9-5 on the game, but needed the 3-run rally after the Rangers scored 2 runs in the top of the 8th, to break a 2-2-
tie.
The winning pitcher was T.J. Tavender, the second of 3 Niagara hurlers. Starter Jason Ermers pitched
very effectively, going 5 innings and allowing just 1 hit, but two unearned runs. He walked 3 and struck out 4.
Tavender, in his first appearance of the season after returning from U.S. College ball, tossed 3 innings, and allowed 2 runs
on 4 hits and 3 walks, while striking out 2. Dave Davidson, making his 2nd straight appearance in relief pitched the
9th inning and struck out 2 of the 3 batters he faced, to earn his 1st save. Kevin Breitner, the 3rd of 4 Ranger
pitchers, took the loss.
Rookie Matt Spillman and veteran Andrew Sorochan led the way at the plate for the Metros,
with 2 hits each. Spillman added 2 SB's and 2 runs, while Sorochan chipped in with an RBI. Dustin Wiley hit a
long double and added an RBI, while Jonathan Paul and Evan Baglieri had RBI singles. Chris Pickles and Tim Collins also
singled and Garrett Fisher added an RBI. Mark Capone doubled and singled to lead the Etobicoke attack.
The
Niagara club gets the weekend off, before beginning a very busy run of 4 games in 5 days, next week. That run begins
on Tuesday, as they travel to Mississauga for a meeting with the upstart Twins, before returning home next Thursday for their
first match-up of the season with the powerful Glanbrook Grizzlies. Game time at Community Park, is 7:30.

METROS DROP HOME OPENER TO BRANTS
The Niagara Metros, after three rainouts, finally got their
2010 season underway last night at Community Park, losing to the determined Burlington Brants by a 6-5 count. The Metros'
rust was evident throughout, but no where more than at the plate, as the Niagara club managed just 6 hits. It was one
bad inning that led to their downfall, as the Brants combined 4 infield hits, a double, and a costly Metros' error to score
5 times, and take a 5-1 lead. But Niagara scored 3 in the third, another in the 7th, and left two runners on base in
both the 8th and 9th innings, as Burlington hung on for the one-run victory.
The hard-luck loser was starter Dustin
Turner, who went three innings, allowing 6 hits, and 5 runs (3 earned). He walked 0 while striking out 4. Dave
Davidson made his first appearance in amateur ball since 2001, and pitching the 4th, he struck out the side, after walking
the first 2. Chris Magarian followed up, and went two effective innings, allowing no runs, and one hit while striking
out 3. Dan Proctor also pitched an inning, allowing a run on 1 hit and 3 walks. Young lefty Paul Somerville finished
up, tossing the final 2 innings allowing 0 runs or hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1.
Offensively,
Niagara got 3 singles and an RBI from rookie catcher, Evan Baglieri, to lead the way. Andrew Sorochan added a 2-run
double, while Jonathan Paul also drove in a run with a double. Matt Spillman singled to round out the offense.
The Metros drew 9 walks and stole 7 bases during the contest, but couldn't get the key hit with runners on base. Roger
Lambert hit a 2-run double for the Brants.
Next up for Niagara, is a Thursday night meeting with the Etobicoke
Rangers, before facing a 4-gamer next week. Game time for the Metros-Rangers at Community Park is 7:30.

DAVIDSON CLEARED TO PLAY, BY O.B.A.
The Niagara Metros are
pleased to announce that former major-league pitcher, Dave Davidson has been cleared to play for the C.O.M.B.L. team by the
Ontario Baseball Association. O.B.A. rules stipulate that any former professional players must be re-instated as amateurs
before they can take the field in an O.B.A. contest. Metros' GM Mark Walters received that approval yesterday,
and the team is looking forward to seeing him on the mound, this week.
Davidson, who played with the Metros as
a 16 year-old in 2000, signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002, and played in the Bucs' system for 6 years. His best
minor league season was 2006, when he moved up 3 levels in the system, and compiled a 3-2 record, with a 2.01 ERA.
He struck out 96 in 76 innings, that summer. After being added to the Pirates 40-man roster in the winter of 2006-07,
Dave finally made it to "the show", appearing in two games as a September call-up with the Pirates, before being
sent back down to AA at the conclusion of the year. Mr. Davidson is also very proud of his work with Team Canada,
at both the the World Cup of Baseball in 2009 (see pictures above), and in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. After playing
the rest of the '08 season with with the Altoona Curve of the Eastern League, the hard-throwing lefthander resurfaced
with the Florida Marlins in 2009.
However, Dave hurt his arm pitching for the Marlins, and was forced to undergo
shoulder surgery, in June of '09. He was subsequently released by the big-league club, and is currently trying to work
his way back to the professional level. "The first thing I have to do", said Davidson, "is get comfortable
on the mound, and prove that I'm healthy!" "I honestly don't know how long I'll be around...could
be all season, and maybe I'll get a call from my agent tomorrow." "All I know is that for right now, I need
to pitch."
The Metros are very happy to be a part of Dave's rehab, and are hoping to help him get back to
pro ball. Walters added, "Dave will be on a strict pitch count, and we will do our best to accomodate
him, as he tries to make his way back." "Of course, it would be great to see him on the mound in the
C.O.M.B.L. all year, but sincerely, we hope he gets that call!"

AT LEAST WE GOT IT STARTED...
The Niagara Metros and Oakville A's valiantly tried
to get their game in, last night at Community Park, but Mother Nature would have none of it. The A's had just tied the
Metros 1-1 in the top of the 4th inning, when the skies opened up and forced postponement of the game. The make up date
has not been set as of yet.
Making his return to the Metros' mound after a year in Europe, Jason Ermers pitched
very effectively...allowing just 2 hits into the 4th. He struck out 4 and walked 0, in very tough conditions.
Jono Marcheterre singled to drive in Dustin Wiley (who had also singled) for the Metros run, while Jeff Jarockis tripled in
the A's run.
The Metros will try to get their season started for the 4th time on Monday night, as the Burlington
Brants come to town for a 7:30 start...and then Thursday, May 20 the Etobicoke Rangers come to Community Park for their first
visit. Once again, game time is 7:30.

METROS RAINED OUT AGAIN
The Niagara Metros (like every other team in Southern
Ontario) are having a hard time getting their 2010 season underway. After a steady rain in Burlington Tuesday, and overnight
on Wednesday morning, Nelson Park became a "mud bowl" and forced postponement of the Metros - Brants game in Burlington.
The two teams are working out a reschedule plan, but it has not been announced, as yet.
In the meantime, the Niagara
club is hoping for a break in the weather the rest of the day and tomorrow, as their planned home opener is scheduled for
Thursday, May 13th. The Oakville A's are scheduled to come to town for a 7:30 tilt at Community Park. Fingers
crossed!!

METROS ROSTER UP TO DATE - BIOS NOW POSTED
The Niagara Metros haven't had a lot of luck getting
their 2010 season started, as they got rained out on "Opening Day" this past Saturday. And it's not looking
good for Wednesday and Thursday of this week either, which is coincidentally the next two scheduled games for the team.
So, while the team is "keeping it's fingers crossed", hoping to get going this week, we figured we could tell you
about a couple of our website updates.
1. There have been 3 games played in the C.O.M.B.L. so far (through
Monday night), and we have update the Standings Page to reflect these games. We'll be doing that every day, all season
long, to keep you right up to date with the ongoing events in the Central Ontaio Major Baseball League. Just click
on "Standings" for the most recent updates.
2. Also, this week, we have completed (to this point
in time) our roster page updates. With 9 faces gone, and 11 new ones coming in, the task of updating the roster
is a big one. And the changes to the "Roster Page" of our website are just as big. But they are complete. When
you click on "2010 Roster" to the left of the page you'll see the list of players on the team, with a brief
summary of their personal information. When you click on the name, you'll get a picture of the player, along
with a 4 paragraph biography, describing who they are, where they've played, what they've accomplished, prior to 2010.
We hope you take the time to find out who is representing the Niagara Metros for the 2010 season. We are proud that
this talented group of players has chosen our organization to exhibit their talents.
Talk to you after the next
game (hopefully Thursday). Till then, stay on the field.

METROS RAINED, WINDED OUT IN MILTON
The Niagara Metros and
Milton Red Sox encountered a little snag prior to their season-opening game in Milton on Saturday afternoon. The
snag took the form of rain, freezing temperatures, and 100 km/h winds. The game will be rescheduled to a later date,
hopefully when the weather is a little more cooperative.
In the meantime, the Metros will prepare to open their
season Wednesday night instead. The Niagara team travels to Burlington for a 7:30 start at Nelson Park...and then return
home to open the "home half" of their schedule on Thursday. Game time for the home opener at Community Park,
is 7:30.

METROS 2010 ROSTER CHANGES - PART 2
As promised, this week we are completing the
task of finalizing our roster for the 2010 season, and announcing our new additions. Last week, we announced the names
of the 9 players who for one reason or another, have chosen not to return this summer. To be honest, that's a lot
of players to lose in one off-season, and had the Metros' brass wondering if they would be able to field a team in '10.
But the "baseball gods" must have been paying attention, because they have sent 11 (!) outstanding new players their
way, to more than cover the losses.
Listed in alphabetical order, here is the fine group of players (with
a brief background) who have either been working out with the team this spring, or who have indicated their commitment,
after their return from the U.S. College spring season. Their biographies will appear on our "Roster Page"
sometime over the next two weeks...
1. C/Inf., Evan Baglieri - a 19 year-old Niagara Falls native, comes
to the Metros after a successful 3-year run with the Niagara Rebels under-18 program, and 2 outstanding seasons at Niagara
County Community College, in Sanborn, N.Y.
2. 1B/P, Brandon Beattie - a 19 year-old walk-on with the
team, the 6'4" 1Bman has impressed the Metros with his athleticism, his fine glovework around the bag, a sweet
powerful swing, and a very coachable approach to the game.
3. OF/P, Mike Czerwieniec - a veteran
of the Ontario Senior baseball scene, Mike was a fixture with the Windsor Stars during their Elimination Tourney Championships
in the middle part of the decade. Last season, with the Glanbrook Grizzlies, he was named to the C.O.M.B.L. All-Star
team.
4. LHP, Jason Ermers - after a year in the Austrian Elite League, Jason returns to the Metros
to pick up where he left off in 2008. Ermers was named to the Metros 25th Anniversary All-Star team, after posting 17
wins, and a franchise-record 2.11 ERA, over his first 4 seasons with the club.
5. Inf., Garrett Fisher -
the rookie infielder joins the Metros after a very good career with the Bullett-Proof Prospects Elite program.
After securing a scholarship to Ohio Dominican University (D1 - NAIA), Garrett returned home, and anchored the "hot corner"
for the Brock Badgers, this past fall.
6. 1B/3B, Chris Pickles - another 19 year-old, Pickles was
a standout with the Bullett-Proof organization, and landed a scholarship to Niagara County C.C., where he has played this
spring. He was also a team-leader for Sir Winston Churchill's run to the OFSAA High School baseball tournament in 2008.
7. 2B/SS, Daniel Proctor - this 19 year-old Beamsville, Ont. native played in the St. Catharines and
Niagara Falls' minor systems, until being signed by Crandall University (Moncton, N.B.) of the Atlantic Athletic
Conference. Dan was named the teams Rookie-of-the-Year, after his fall of 2009 season.
8. LHP ,
Paul Somerville - another youngster who graduated from the Bullett-Proof organization, Paul brings an excellent repertoire
of pitches from the left side of the mound. He is the third member of the 2010 (NJCAA Region 3) Conference Finalist,
Niagara County Trailblazers, to join the Metros this spring.
9. 2B/SS, Matt Spillman - this youngster was
a highly-recruited player out of the Bullett-Proof program, who ended up with a full-ride to 4-year (D1 - NAIA) Walsh University,
in Canton OH. He earned the starting 2B job at Walsh as a freshman, and has enjoyed a very strong rookie season there.
10. RHP, Geoff Strong - a 22 year-old Welland native, Geoff is completing his senior year at (D1 NCAA)
Niagara University in Lewiston, NY. The 2006 graduate of the Niagara Rebels program was voted Welland's "Athlete
of the Year" in 2007, after the first of 4 excellent seasons with the "Purple Eagles".
11.
C/1B, Dustin Wiley - the veteran of Ontario Senior ball has been a part of no less than 4 Ontario Championships (and 3 Canadian
Senior Bronze medals) with the Windsor Stars. His resume with (D1 NCAA) University of North Carolina - Asheville,
and (D1 NCAA) Detroit Mercy College speaks for itself.
Also working out with the team, but unsure of his immediate
(or long-term) future, is ex-Major League Pitcher Dave Davidson. Davidson, has a history with the Metros, as he played
with the club as a 16 year-old prior to his being drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002. The 26 year-old lefty
appeared in one game with the Florida Marlins in 2009, and a couple with the Pirates in '07...after an outstanding minor league
career. Dave was also a fixture on the mound for Team Canada, at both the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the 2009 World
Cup of Baseball. He is currently at home in St. Catharines, completing a re-hab from shoulder surgery, and working
out with the team, in preparation for his next professional assignment. Unfortunately, Dave is unsure of when or
where that will be. Until that news comes, the Metros are doing whatever they can to help him get back to
the big leagues, and although it would be great to see him on the mound in the C.O.M.B.L. all year, we hope he gets that call!
So there you have it...the Metros incredible turnaround in one off-season. It's been quite a ride, and
as the old adage goes, "You can't tell the players without a program." We'll see how it all comes together,
as the Metros travel to Milton for opening day, this Saturday at 1:30. The "Home Opener" is next Thursday
(May 13) at Community Park, as the team hosts the Oakville A's. Game time is 7:30.
NEW 'BASEBALL FILM FEATURE" THIS WEEK
Hey, before we leave you, we have
to get you to check out a hilarious new video, on the Metros' "Baseball Film Feature". What would Red Sox
fans have given to have their team win the 2004 World Series? Whatever it is, they should
"keep it to themselves", because Mastercard is listening...Priceless!
Just
scroll to the bottom of the page, and press "Play", and till next week, please, stay on the field.

A FLY IN THE OINTMENT!!
Just
when you thought everything was set to go for the season to begin later this week...the sh** hits the fan! After
a Friday night practice, it was determined that the Dundas Chiefs would have to withdraw from the C.O.M.B.L. for 2010.
The reason cited to league managers (in an email late Friday night) was a lack of players for the Chiefs. It is a truly
unfortunate turn of events, as the Chiefs have been one of the cornerstone franchises in the league for more than 50 years.
With the season less than a week away, the league managers were left scrambling to pick up the pieces of their 2010
schedule. They decided that, to just drop the Dundas games from the schedule would leave them with "too few",
and to add a game to every team would give them "too many". In the end, they decided that an unbalanced schedule...meaning
that the teams would play an extra game against teams from their own Division...would be the answer. And the league's
schedule-maker, Mark Walters, was given the task of revamping the existing schedule, to conform to these new conditions.
The reworking of the schedule is now complete, and the changes have been sent out to the entire league. The
Metros' changes are reflected on the "2010 Schedule" page of our website....highlighted with a "gray"
background. Metros' players are asked to check out them out, and make the subsequent changes to their master
schedules, handed out earlier in the year.
With any luck at all (and a little cooperation between the remaining
teams), in a few months we'll just look back on this situation as an inconvenience, rather than the undoing of the
season.
OH, BY THE WAY...
We have a couple of other things to bring you up-to-date on this week.
As promised, the second half of our 2010 Metros Roster changes will be featured right here. Last week we told you
about the players leaving the Metros this season. We have to complete the story by unveiling the new players joining
the team this summer. Look for that story on Wednesday.
Finally, we have to tell you about an exciting new
"Blog" that is available to our readers. It is called "Extra Innings: Ontario Senior Baseball News",
and as the name suggests, it will feature stories, polls, statistics, and information about anything that is "Senior
Baseball related" in Ontario. One of the highlights of the blog, will be a selection of the Senior Baseball "Player
of the Week", which will go out to all the media outlets across Ontario. This is an exciting opportunity
for all the followers of Senior ball to get their "information fix", in one handy location. The website address
is: http://seniorbaseball.blogspot.com/ .
That's it for now...check back on Wednesday for our next update.
Till then, stay on the field.
