Another member of the Metros' rookie class of 2011, Taylor Anderson has returned for the 2012 summer season.  And like his former Bullett's teammate and Metros' co-rookie, Ricky Ferri, Taylor had nothing but success come his way during the 2011 year.  His final batting line reads:  39 G, 145 AB (led team), 59 hits (led team), 48 singles (led team), 10 doubles, 71 Total Bases, 26 BB's, 7 K's (led team), 9 SB's, 40 Runs, 24 RBI's, a .407 BA, and a .497 OBP.  Terrific numbers for any player, much less an 18 year-old rookie.  That amazing season earned Taylor a berth on the Johnson Division All-Star team as the second-baseman, and he then matched that honour with a First Team All-Provincial All Star nod, by the Ontario Senior Baseball Blog.  Taylor hails from Niagara Falls, and started out in the city's minor ball program where he was a part of the "Falcons" O.B.A. "AA" Peewee championship teams, in 2004 and 2005.  From there, Taylor moved on and joined up with the Bullett-Proof organization, where he played on the 16u team, and continued his impressive string of success.  Then in '08, despite being one of the youngest players on the team, Taylor advanced to the 18u team, and immediately became a fixture in the infield, finishing 2nd on the team in batting.  That success continued in 2009...but it was in 2010 when Mr. Anderson put himself on the University "radar".  Finishing up his 18u career, Taylor finished third in the E.C.P.L. batting race, with a .421 mark.  He also led the league in RBI's with 24, while adding 6 doubles, 3 triples, a HR, and 9 SB's to his totals.  His Slug. Pct (.618) was third, while his OPS (1.107) was second...and perhaps most impressively, he struck out just 5 times all season.  Eventually Taylor signed with Potomac State College of West Virginia (NJCAA - D1), before transferring to NCAA D2 - Gannon University this spring.  Despite his sporadic playing time as a freshman (he started just 11 games), Taylor managed to collect a HR, 8 BB's, and 6 RBI's...on his way to an impressive .366 OBP.
